If you want to learn almost anything free, the Internet is a wonderful thing. I am happily and proudly self-taught.
I’m going to show you something that I’ve never really seen anyone else talk about. I’m going to show you how to get TONS of free Kindle books absolutely free, and yes, it’s legal!
In fact, these authors are offering you their books free on purpose! You just have to know where to look.
When this content originally appeared on my Candid Cashflow Podcast, it wasn’t a very popular episode. However, what I’m going to show you is a strong resource for multiple reasons.
Let’s jump in.
No Kindle? No problem. Grab a free app.
If you’re thinking, “I don’t own a Kindle so this is completely irrelevant to me.”
Don’t worry! Amazon has you covered! Grab a FREE Kindle app here – https://candidcashflow.com/kindleapps
Whatever device you own, Amazon has an equal and adequate Kindle app for you!
Now hop on your computer…
Nabbing that Kindle app is just for the purpose of being able to read the books you download. For actually getting the books, you’ll need:
- An Amazon account
- Your computer
As a content creator, I do most of my online stuff via my computer. I am well aware; however, that the majority of content consumption takes place on mobile devices.
If you want to attempt this on your mobile device, have at it!
3 Benefits of Having Tons of Kindle Books
- Free resources to learn just about anything. – You can find books about business, online business, crafts, playing instruments, idea generation, DIY, self-help, and finance. There are all kinds of books available about everything!
- Free entertainment – If you enjoy reading in your spare time, you never have to buy another book if you don’t want to. There is an endless stream of free reading material available to you via the method I’m about to share.
- Research your competition as a self-publisher – In addition to the first benefit, a free education, I love to see the quality of books that other self-publishers are putting out. By looking at the books other authors are putting out, I know exactly what I need to do to publish top-notch books. That is HUGE.
How to Get Free Kindle Books and Learn Almost Anything Free
Be sure to grab the show notes here if you need screenshots!
Step 1. Go to https://candidcashflow.com/kindlebestsellers. <<< This will redirect to Amazon. These are the best-selling items in the Kindle Store updated hourly.
Notice just above the #1 listing, there are two tabs:
- Top 100 Paid
- Top 100 Free
We’re only interested in the Top 100 Free today. Click it and that list will appear. All of the books on this list are free.
Step 2. Click Kindle eBooks in the left navigation. Now we can see the full list of genres available for Kindle.
Again, you’ll notice the Top 100 Free tab above the #1 spot. Make sure to click it. It will be orange in color when that tab is active. You’ll want to ensure this is the case each time you select a new genre.
Step 3. Click your desired genre in the left navigation. For this example, I clicked Business & Money. Notice all of the sub-genres that are now available.
So, here’s the deal…
Under Business & Money, there is a Top 100 Free list, but there is also the same list under each sub-genre. Isn’t that exciting!?! Well, maybe just for dorks like me. 😀
Each sub-genre may not have a full list of 100, but most of them will have something, and many of them will have 100.
The cool thing here is that you can stay on the main genre level and stick to the top 100 there or you can drill it down to sub-genres if you like. You can download as many or as few books as you want.
I usually do this a couple of times a year and go through the whole list adding hundreds of book to my digital library.
Step 4. To download a book, click the cover image. The sales page for the book will load and you can see any additional information about the title that you need.
Click the Buy Now with 1-click button to “purchase” the free book. If you don’t have 1-click enabled, this may just be a regular Buy button. I don’t actually remember as I’ve had 1-click set up for quite a while. Either way, you won’t be charged anything for the free book.
Once you do that, Amazon will deliver the book to the device you have selected under Deliver to:
That’s it! Rinse and repeat as many times as you want because it’s FREE!
To view and read your new books:
Just open the Kindle app on your device and make sure you are viewing your Library instead of the Store. You’ll see your books listed there, and you can just select the one you want to read.
Bonus
I wanted to include a small bonus for those of you who are in it to learn new skills. In addition to free Kindle eBooks, YouTube is also a super valuable, free resource to learn every kind of skill you can imagine.
Just type whatever you’re looking for into the search bar on YouTube. Did you know that YouTube as a search engine is second only to Google?
These are the two places I go to first when I want to learn something new. Of course, there are many other places you can learn things free online, it just depends on what you’re looking for. Remember that Google is your friend in this case.
What do you think?
Were you aware that you could download so many free books from Amazon at once? What methods do you use when you want to learn something new?
I also listen to podcasts when I want to learn something new! I hope you’ll consider subscribing to The Candid Cashflow Podcast so you don’t miss future episodes where I’ll share more ways to enhance your online endeavors.
This article originally appeared on January 3, 2018, when the corresponding podcast episode was released. It’s included here because it has been updated and is still relevant!

Great idea! I used to read more than I do these days. I should start looking again. I love that the kindle app works everywhere on any device. Great topic!
Thanks for your comment, Lelana! Yeah, I first wrote on this topic a couple of years back and it received very little traction. It remains a resource for a ton of free information for me, so I thought I’d share it again.
